Story was born in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) in 1998, where she was raised just like every other suburban-mongrel kiwi kid- including underwhelming trips to the dairy via tractor, having a cowboy for a grandpa and owning a very unsafe trampoline...
Pretty much, life was perfect - right up until her family decided to move to South-QLD, Australia, at the age of 7. As a young immigrant, nothing was familiar - except for the feeling of curling up on the couch, and proceeding to thank god that Australia also had Cartoon Network.

Cartoons and Graphic Novels have always been my haven - and so, I jumped at the opportunity to study a Bachelor of Animation at Griffith University (QCA) in 2016. Since graduating, I've been Animating in Malaysia, Graphic / Web Designing, Scriptwriting, Teaching Storyboarding workshops to cool high-schoolers - AND of course, writing and illustrating Maori children's books to help revitalise my beautiful culture, that I am beyond proud of...
- That last one is the one that stuck :)

Hi! - I'm Story Hemi-Morehouse,
a professional Writer, Illustrator, and Graphic Novelist.
The majority of my mahi (work) showcases Maori and Pasifika ideology and themes. But as someone who is also half-pakeha, I love exploring the intersection where my Pasific and Western cultures meet, and finding harmony there for myself, through storytelling.
Usually, my Storybooks are published in both Te Reo Maori and English.
